I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to treat anxiety and depression. This includes a strategic and guided practice of teaching techniques to combat anxiety and depression. This also includes role playing through difficult and challenging situations, and learning how to change negative thought patterns that can often heighten anxiety and depression. I will often work with clients for a number of weeks to gain desired improvement before referring out for a medication consultation. Depending upon the degree of depression or anxiety, some clients will experience improvement without medication. These are issues that we will discuss in your first appointment.
